The story i read makes me think of a time where there was nothing but water on the planet. It reminds me of a time where the planet was not fully developed and life was just about to begin. Something i would like to know more about this story is who were the people in the sky that the narrator speaks of. Something i did not understand in this story was when the womans husband says "I am sad that you had this dream. it is clearly a dream of great power and as is our way, when one has such a powerful dream we must do all we can to make it come true". I wonder why the man is sad about the dream. The setting is important in this story because it shows us a time where there may have been nothing but water yet on earth and no landforms had emerged out from under the sea. This reading changes my thoughts about how the world was created because there is no 100% sure proof and almost anything could have happened as far as we know so far. My favorite line was when the muskrat said "I will bring up the earth or die trying". I favor this line because it shows the muskrats determination and heart to bring up the earth so the woman can have a place to stand so she doesn't drown in the water. I was interested when the animals were contemplating on how they were going to bring the earth above the surface because since they are just animals to me that sounds impossible. Overall i enjoyed this story and was interested in it on the way it was written.
