This reading made me think of a time when Indians first became a race. I would like to know more about if its true that Indians never killed grizzly bears. One thing i didn't under stand was exactly what was the sky spirit. Was he a person or was he something that just flows through the air instead, and could you physically see or touch him. The setting is important because it explains Indians image of what it was once like before existence of humans came around. I do wonder though if Indians really do believe this or if its just a legend on a myth in there minds. I was most interested in when the sky spirit created a way to get to earth. The sky spirit created animals by breaking his stick up into pieces and then sprinkling the broken pieces all over the grounds. I was not so sure though in this passage why the grizzly bears could speak English but none of the other creatures could. I also didn't understand what the daughter was thinking peaking her head out and for the most part knowing that she would be blown away from the sky spirits storm. I thought the most important part is when the daughter has children and gives life to humans because then this shows the first existence of the human race in this type of passage. Overall i enjoyed the story and found it fascinating the way others picture the world and how it once was
